PRIMARY ELECTION — 2008
- Jan. 14: Deadline for Secretary of State to provide a list of all vendors authorized to print ballots for state, county and municipal elections to the clerk of each county court.
- Feb. 5 Approximate date (2 weeks prior to the
drawing of ballot position) vendor desiring to print ballots for elections held under Chapter 3 shall obtain a certificate of authorization to print ballots.
- Feb. 19 Drawing for order of names on ballot, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
- Mar. 4 Approximate deadline for candidate's name removed from ballot due to death.
- Mar. 4 Last day for county clerk to estimate number of official absent voter's ballots required.
- April 1 Last day for board of ballot commissioners to have printed and delivered to the county clerk official absent voter's ballots and supplies.
- April 2 - 14 Public notice of time and place of test for automatic tabulating equipment for early voting.
- April 14 Public notice of inspection of electronic systems ballot and vote recording devices for early voting.
- April 14 Inspect electronic voting devices and DRE-touch screen devices for early voting. (deadline)
- April 15 Ballots and supplies delivered to county clerk.(deadline)
- April 16 Public test of electronic tabulation equipment for early voting.(DRE) (deadline)
- April 16 Notification of electronic voting system readiness for early voting.
- April 22 - May 4 Public notice of time and place for test of automatic tabulating equipment.

- May 6 Notification of voting machine and electronic voting systems readiness.(deadline)

- Aug. 12 Last day of occurrence of vacancy on ballot resulting from disqualification or incapacity of candidate, or from death of incumbent in certain elected offices.
- Aug. 25 Approximate deadline for candidate's name removed from ballot due to death.
- Aug. 26 Drawing for order of names on ballot,
begining at 9:00 a.m.
- Aug. 26 Last day for county clerk to estimate number of absent voter's ballots required.
- Sept. 23 Last day for board of ballot commissioners to have printed and delivered to county clerk the official absent voter's ballots.

- Oct. 7 Ballots and supplies delivered to county clerk.
- Oct. 7 Public notice of inspection of electronic systems ballot and vote recording devices for early voting.
